I am very much enjoying the book so far.
I belive that I have found a typo though on page 103 in second paragrah the word "years" is used and it should be "centuries":
"Anyone in M31 who picks it up - which won't happen for about twenty-one thousand years - may well conclude there is intelligent life out here."
For those who don't know, M31 is the "Great Galaxy in Andromeda". According to Astronomy.com, "The closest spiral galaxy to our own, Andromeda is 2.5 million light-years from Earth."
So, I would believe that the typo is corrected with "twenty-five centuries". Please note that I wrote "centuries" and not "years" since 25000 centuries corresponds to 2.5 x 10^4 centuries * 10^2 years/century = 2.5 x 10^6 years.
